Did you know our medical outreach programs have our team serving well beyond our brick-and-mortar clinic in Joplin?

Each week, our team heads to Carthage with our mobile medical unit, where the Jasper County Health Department has invited us to set up in their parking lot. This allows us to serve those needing limited pregnancy ultrasounds and get them transitioned into prenatal care as quickly as possible.  We also provide STI testing and treatment for the Carthage community at no cost.

We recently had the privilege of serving a sweet young couple in Carthage, and the sounds on the mobile unit brought contagious smiles to all as mom and dad took a first-time peek at their little one on the ultrasound screen.  At a little over 12 weeks, the baby wiggled and bounced from side to side.  The activity of the heartbeat motion was detected at a healthy rate of 155 beats per minute.

“A friend told us about you guys, and we just knew we had to come see you.  Thank you for coming to Carthage.”

But it doesn’t stop there – our team also travels to two area jails, where we provide services to those with limited access to healthcare.  Recently, we received notice that one of the young women who was provided an ultrasound by our nurse while she was in jail just delivered twins, and all are doing well. Compassionate care provided by a nurse with a portable ultrasound machine helped the life outcome of not just one baby, but two!

Thank you for partnering with your gifts so that these stories are possible!
