Reflecting over the past year, I can’t help but be so grateful for our incredible community partners. Strategic team collaboration combines to educate, advocate and elevate as we empower individuals to make the healthiest of life decisions for themselves and future generations.
Through the decades, many have thanked LifeChoices for supporting them through a period of crisis in their lives. Let me share a few stories to encourage you:
One grandmother wrote that she came to LifeChoices when she was 16 years old and uncertain what to do with her pregnancy. “You gave me the confidence and courage to do what I knew deep down I wanted to do.” She went on to share that her daughter came to us years later for an ultrasound verification of her first pregnancy.
A young father who was out on parole said that he and his girlfriend didn’t know what to do when they had an unexpected pregnancy. He shared about his experience at LifeChoices by saying, “they cared without wanting something in return – they just cared and I’m not used to that kind of care.” They chose to parent that pregnancy and are now married with a second baby added to their family.
A former addict who was homeless and pregnant recounted how two nurses came to her in a park bathroom when she reached out in desperation. Her little baby boy arrived safely. She worked hard to get clean and found a deep relationship with God. Now she works with other single mothers facing homelessness to help get them back on their feet.
A victim of sexual exploitation we provided services to during a law enforcement operation sent a text saying, “I want to thank you all for being that pivot point to open my eyes and help me see what needed to be done. I’ve turned my life over to God and I don’t plan on using or using my body ever again.”
Truly, we thank God for the miracles of life and lives changed because of friends like you who want to make a lasting legacy of hope in our community and beyond.
