These encouraging words were recently shared with our staff by one of our Care Coordination church partners. In every opportunity possible, we point young single mothers or newly pregnant couples to connect with our Care Coordination team for intentional discipleship, encouragement, and support. We deeply believe that intervening medical services for our clients is most effective when babies are born into a family that has strong community support.
Bridging the gap to a faith community can make all the difference in the world to a young and vulnerable family – the local church is the ultimate opportunity for the love of God to nourish seedlings so that strong roots take hold.
In his book, “What Happened to You? Conversations on Trauma, Resilience and Healing”, Dr. Bruce Perry shares that the power of positive relationships on health and well-being cannot be underestimated. He states, “Connectedness has the power to counterbalance adversity.”
