May is a special time set aside to honor mothers, but at LifeChoices, we have the privilege of celebrating them every single day. We see her courage the moment she walks through our doors. We walk alongside her through each step of her journey – her pregnancy test, consultation, options counseling, ultrasound, and the months of care that follow.
Not every woman who comes to us chooses motherhood, but this month we celebrate the more than 16,500 women who have chosen to parent or make an adoption plan since LifeChoices began 37 years ago. Each story is a testament to courage, support, and the power of compassionate care.
Recently, our team connected with a young couple working hard to break generational cycles of poverty, abuse, and unhealthy choices. A pregnancy was not in their plans. When Ashley* missed her period and called our after-hours hotline, she kept repeating, “This can’t happen.” During one of their appointments, they shared that while they wanted to parent, they didn’t have the means, or the community, to make it possible. “We need a village to make this happen,” they said. With a confident smile, our nurse responded, “We can help you gather a village.”
That is exactly what happens every day at LifeChoices. Behind so many of these brave moms are fathers, friends, family members, and community partners who step in with strength and support. This month, as we honor mothers, we are also grateful for those who walk alongside them—offering encouragement, stability, and care when it’s needed most.
