Hearing my name called across the movie theater lobby, I turned to see a young woman, whose face seemed vaguely familiar. She was walking towards me, holding the hand of a little girl…
“Karolyn! I wanted you to meet Jade*… Jade, this is Miss Karolyn. 10 years ago, before you were even 
born, she really helped me. She took ultrasound pictures of you and I even got to see your tiny heartbeat!”
A flood of memories returned as I recalled this very frightened, widowed mother of one, who suddenly faced another crisis – being a single mother with not just one child, but now with a very unplanned second baby.
We hugged, exchanged phone numbers, and went on to our separate movies. On Mother’s Day this past month I sent Jade’s mother a text saying how delighted I was to see her again and how thrilled I was to be introduced to her daughter after so many years. I affirmed how blessed she must feel every day that she chose life for Jade.
Her text back to me read, “Thank you so very much! That means a lot to me. It was such a blessing to run into you again. Thank you for all you do.”
Jade’s life was spared because of your partnership!
