Each year millions of Americans commit to New Year’s resolutions and, sadly, many fail to set a plan in place that will lead them to success. Every day at LifeChoices we have the privilege to share the greatest plan for a hopeful future with those we serve.
For students, perhaps that’s a plan to wait to have sex. To those with an unplanned pregnancy, it’s options for adoption or healthy parenting. And for those trapped in a life of sexual exploitation, it’s a chance for a new start. But for all, it’s hope for a brighter future.
Two days before Christmas I sat with a young girl for her first airplane flight as she was taken to the safety of a facility that could meet the unique needs she was facing as a survivor of trafficking. She took a cross charm from her necklace and held it tightly, sharing that she knew Jesus was somewhere out there looking out for her.
A law enforcement officer recently sent the following message to our team: “I am so thankful for you and the experience and compassion you bring to human trafficking victims. Believe me, you all are the true heroes.”
