During her appointment at one of our medical clinics, Angelica* shared a journey of extreme frustration. She immigrated to America as a very young child but now as an area college student is suddenly faced with the label of “illegal immigrant” and the potential of deportation.
Our staff listened intently, not just to the symptoms that brought her through our doors but to the heart that stung with betrayal. A stranger, a young woman, suddenly facing a future of no place to call home.
Following the medical appointment, an invitation was extended for Angelica to join an area small group that weekly gathers to play games and study the Bible. Angelica accepted and bravely decided to step into a circle of welcoming new friends. The bridge from despair to the fellowship of a church family was crossed through a compassionate visit to a Choices Medical clinic.
